Segments
A segment is a saved subset of your team. Selecting one narrows the team dashboard — including the headline numbers — to just those people.
Creating one
Section titled “Creating one”-
Scroll to Segments on the team dashboard.
-
Give it a name — “East Region”, “Canadian fund”, “2025 cohort”.
-
Tick the people in this segment.
-
Click Create Segment.
Your segments are listed underneath with a member count, a View button, and Delete.
Two kinds of filter
Section titled “Two kinds of filter”The Segment dropdown on the team dashboard offers both:
- Supervisor assignments — everyone you supervise is available as a filter automatically. You don’t need to create a segment for it.
- Saved segments — the free-form ones you create here.
Use saved segments for groupings that cut across supervision: by fund, by region, by cohort, by campus.
Who can create them
Section titled “Who can create them”Leaders — owners and admins. Supervisors can filter by their own assigned members without needing a segment.
Segments only ever narrow what you can see
Section titled “Segments only ever narrow what you can see”A segment is resolved through the viewer’s own visible set. A supervisor selecting a segment sees only the intersection of that segment and their own people — so a hand-edited URL can’t widen anyone’s access.
Deleting one
Section titled “Deleting one”Delete on the segment’s row. It removes the grouping only; nobody is removed from the team.
Keeping them useful
Section titled “Keeping them useful”Segments go stale as people join and leave — a new member isn’t automatically in any segment.
Review them when the team changes shape. If a segment’s count doesn’t match what you expect, that’s usually why.
