Unthanked Donors

The Unthanked Donors report listing donors with a recent gift and no thank-you interaction
Gave, and hasn't been thanked.

Donors who have given a gift and have no interaction of type “Thank You” since it, within your Unthanked donors threshold in Preferences.

The default is six months, which is generous. Most people set it to one or three — the point of the report is to catch unthanked gifts while the thank-you still means something.

An unthanked donor is the most likely person on your list to lapse. They gave, they heard nothing, and the natural conclusion is that it didn’t matter.

The fix is trivial and the cost of not doing it is a donor. This is the highest return-per-minute report in Karani.

Emailing a gift receipt doesn’t clear a donor from this report, and shouldn’t. A receipt is a document; a thank-you is a message from a person.

If you treat the receipt as the thank you, log a Thank You interaction as well.

The report can create follow-up tasks directly, which is useful when the right thank-you is a phone call you can’t make right now.
