Aplos

Aplos is nonprofit accounting software. Connecting it lets Karani import your contributions and contacts.

Connecting

From Integrations, click Connect Aplos and authorise.

What it does

Imports contributions and contacts from Aplos into Karani. Gifts recorded in your organisation’s accounting appear in your Karani figures without manual entry.

Take an export before your first import

This integration creates records in Karani. Take an export first, and check the result carefully afterwards — particularly the contact count and giving totals.

After connecting

1. Check the Gifts Report totals against Aplos for a known period.
2. Run Potential Duplicate Contacts — imported contacts may overlap with people you already had.
3. Check contact statuses. Imported contacts arrive with a default status; anyone who’s given should be Donor.

Reconciling

Karani records the gift amount and gift date. Your accounting may use processing dates and net-of-fee amounts. See Understanding your numbers.
