System requirements
Karani is web-based software you use over the internet with a browser, on a desktop or mobile device. There’s nothing to install, nothing to download, and no upgrades to worry about — everyone is always on the current version.
Browsers
Section titled “Browsers”Karani works in just about every modern browser. For the best experience we recommend:
- Google Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge
- Mobile Safari (iOS)
- Chrome for iOS
- Firefox for Android
Partially supported — these may or may not work correctly:
- Internet Explorer 11
- Opera and Opera Mini
- The pre-Chrome Android browser
Not supported:
- Internet Explorer 6–10
On a phone or tablet
Section titled “On a phone or tablet”Karani works on a phone. It’s genuinely useful for the things you do while out — checking a contact before a meeting, logging an interaction on the walk back to the car, ticking off a task.
The screens built around wide tables — The Grid, advanced search, the CSV importers — are much easier on a larger screen. Save those for a laptop.
Connection
Section titled “Connection”Karani needs an internet connection; there’s no offline mode. Everything you enter is saved to Karani’s servers as you go, which is also why you can pick up on your phone exactly where you left off on your laptop.
Email deliverability
Section titled “Email deliverability”If you send email through Karani, whether messages actually arrive depends on your sending domain’s configuration rather than on your browser. See Deliverability.
