Virtuous is a nonprofit CRM. Karani can sync contacts, gifts, and activity both ways.
Connecting

Both directions, which makes it one of the deeper integrations Karani offers.
Migrating vs. integrating
Section titled “Migrating vs. integrating”If you’re moving from Virtuous to Karani, use the migration rather than the integration — Virtuous is among the supported migration providers. A migration is a one-time transfer.
If you’re running both ongoing, use the integration.
Which system owns what
Section titled “Which system owns what”Decide before you connect. Two-way syncs are the most likely to produce confusing drift, because either side can originate a change.
In most setups where both run: Virtuous is the organisational record, and Karani is the personal fundraising workspace.
After the first sync
Section titled “After the first sync”- Check your contact count.
- Compare giving totals for a known year using the Gifts Report.
- Run Potential Duplicate Contacts.
- Check pledge start dates — see Donors Behind on Giving for the symptom of getting these wrong.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”Disconnect stops the sync. Records in both systems remain.
