Account overview
Click Settings in the left rail and you get two columns. The split matters, and it’s the thing most new users find confusing.

Users and accounts
Section titled “Users and accounts”A user is a person. That’s you — one email address, one password, one human.
An account is a funding target. Most fundraisers have one, for their own support. Some have several: their salary, plus a scholarship fund, plus a project.
Each account has its own contacts, gifts, pledges, tasks, interactions, groups, and settings. Switching between them changes everything you see.
One user can have several accounts, and one account can be shared with several users.
